About Managing Roles in Alexa Smart Properties Core

An Alexa Smart Properties core user's role defines the operations that the user is allowed to perform on units. A user must have an assigned role before they can access any Alexa Smart Properties for healthcare resources. The creator of a unit is assigned the administrator role for that unit automatically.

Alexa Smart Properties core defines the following roles: organization administrator (A4H.OrgAdmin)and unit administrator (A4P.UnitAdmin).

The organization administrator role has access to administer the organizational unit and all capabilities allowed to the core customer (for example, solution integrator). An organization can have more than one organization administrator.

The unit administrator role has access to and manages an individual unit.

Organization administrator (A4H.OrgAdmin)

The Alexa Smart Properties core organizational unit (A4H.Org) represents an Alexa Smart Properties core organization under an Alexa organization. An A4H.OrgAdmin user role is created automatically when the organizational unit is created.

The organization administrator role owns the Amazon Business account. An organization can have one or more organization administrators.

The organization administrator role has permission to perform the following operations:

  • Create, list, update, and delete units that they created or for which they have the A4P.UnitAdmin role.
  • Create, delete, get, assign, and remove roles and list assigned roles for the organization.
  • Call all Alexa Smart Properties core APIs.

Unit administrator (A4P.UnitAdmin)

The Alexa Smart Properties core unit (Unit) represents a property, group of rooms, or room under an Alexa Smart Properties core organizational unit. The A4P.UnitAdmin user role is created asynchronously within several seconds after the unit is created.

The unit administrator role has permission to perform the following operations on units for which they have the A4P.UnitAdmin role:

  • Get, list, update, and delete units.
  • Call all Alexa Smart Properties core APIs.
