At Amazon, we believe natural user interfaces such as those based on speech represent the next major disruption in computing. Now is a great time for developers, designers, and technology enthusiasts to learn to build engaging experiences for Amazon Alexa, the voice service and brains behind millions of devices like the Amazon Echo.
Today, we’re excited to announce we’re teaming up with Galvanize to train Alexa developers across the US in 2017. Galvanize will bring Alexa skills workshops to seven locations starting in August.
Galvanize is a 21st-century school for entrepreneurs, engineers, and data scientists. Its faculty and flexible blended-learning platform, combining part-time online education and in-person training, provide the most relevant and in-demand technical skills to anyone with the drive and determination to re-skill, up-skill and define success on their terms. Amazon Alexa experts have trained Galvanize instructors to teach how to build for voice with Alexa, and we’re excited to have Galvanize train the next generation of Alexa developers.
At these Alexa skills workshops, you’ll gain experience with three technologies: Amazon’s Alexa Skills Kit, AWS Lambda (part of Amazon Web Services), and the Node.js backend JavaScript framework. Once certified, your skill will be published in the Alexa Skills Store where it can reach tens of millions of customers.
Below are upcoming workshops brought to you by Galvanize in the next few weeks. Find an event near you and sign up to reserve your spot.
