Publish Spanish Skills in the US and Make Money with In-Skill Purchasing (ISP) and Alexa Developer Rewards

In April, we announced that developers could start building skills for Spanish-speaking customers in the US using the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) with the new Spanish for US voice model. Today, we’re excited to announce that Spanish (US) skills can now be published to the US Skills Store and made available to customers. We have also expanded the ways developers can make money, and added in-skill purchasing (ISP) capabilities to Spanish (US). Plus, developers who publish Spanish skills in the US will be eligible to earn Alexa Developer Rewards. Make Money with Spanish Skills in the US by Adding In-Skill Purchasing (ISP)
Starting today, developers can start building premium skill experiences with localized content that is relevant for Spanish-speaking customers in the US. Developers who monetize their skills across multiple languages will be able to tap into a larger customer base, generating revenue to grow their global voice business.
You will be able to monetize your Spanish skills using tools that currently exist: the Alexa Skills Kit Command-Line Interface (ASK CLI) or the Alexa Developer Console. The ASK CLI is best for developers who prefer to write their own code from scratch, whereas the developer console offers a series of step-by-step instructions that developers can click through. Start monetizing your skill using the ASK CLI or the developer console today.
Earn Alexa Developer Rewards by Building Engaging Spanish Skills
Spanish skills published in the US will be eligible to earn Alexa Developer Rewards before the end of the year. Skills with the highest customer engagement in any of the eight eligible categories will earn money each month. To date, the Alexa Developer Rewards program has paid millions of dollars to developers in more than 20 countries.

- Games, Trivia & Accessories
- Kids
- Health & Fitness
- Lifestyle
- Music & Audio
- Productivity

It’s easy to start building voice experiences for Alexa in the new Spanish (US) language model. Before you begin building your skill in Spanish, be sure to select Spanish (es-US) as your language model in the Alexa Developer Console.
