As voice interactions grow in popularity, a huge market is opening for UX and UI designers who can understand, research, test, and improve the user experience of voice user interfaces. We collaborated with CareerFoundry to create a comprehensive course to teach designers the exact skills they’ll need to excel in this field: Voice User Interface Design with Amazon Alexa. The course provides a deep-dive into the history of voice, use cases for voice, user personas and system personas, user stories and scripts, usability testing, and accessibility. It also explores different kinds of voice interactions including multimodal (combined voice and graphical) interfaces.
During the eight-week course, participants create three Amazon Alexa skills and document their UX process throughout. Students finish the course with an end-to-end voice project to showcase in their portfolio. Graduates can confidently add voice design to their resume and help shape the UX of the future.
“Before we know it, consumers will carry out most day-to-day transactions using voice,” says CareerFoundry CEO Raffaela Rein. “Becoming voice-first is the top priority for leading companies around the globe. Because of this, there is a huge need for specialized talent who are ready for this next big frontier in technology.”
The course, Voice User Interface Design with Amazon Alexa, is now open for enrollment. Sign up now to save your spot and join the first cohort starting on Monday, Oct. 2.
