Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality is a new experience which brings the simplicity and convenience of Alexa to the hospitality industry. Alexa Smart Properties offers a fleet management solution to easily deploy and manage Alexa-enabled devices at scale. Alexa Smart Properties brings experiences in hotels to a new level; guests can now access services and amenities during their stay through voice-first experiences. On the other side, hotel managers can measure engagement with Alexa through analytics to understand the value Alexa delivers for their customers and staff.

As part of the launch in France, Hotel Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower, a 430 room Luxury Hotel in the heart of Paris, is the first hotel to offer the solution to their guests in France, in collaboration with Solution Provider Roomchecking.
Pullman Hotel is part of the international hotel group Accor Group.

“The Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel is proud to be the first hotel in continental Europe to feature the Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality solution in its whole room inventory. We designed a customized experience so guests can enjoy an augmented stay through the convenience of voice control. From welcome messages to getting a fitness class, we thought about experiences that can make our guests’ stays more enjoyable. Our will to innovate has always been driven by our commitment to propose memorable moments to our customer; the addition of Alexa in rooms is a natural step to unlock new ways to personalize hospitality experiences. Our teams will rely on Alexa in order to create human connections with our guests that remain for us a top priority,” said Andrès Lopez-Dafonte, Hotel Manager of Pullman Paris Eiffel Tower.

A new experience for guests

Guests can enjoy the Alexa features they love, such as listening to their favorite radio station, asking for restaurants recommendations in the hotel area or scheduling alarms. If the hotel rooms are equipped with compatible smart home products, guests can control devices such as lights or thermostats. Solution providers can also deliver a tailored experience for each hotel via Custom Skills. Guests will then be able to query Alexa for services like housekeeping (“Alexa, I need extra soap”) and the staff will be notified right away. Specific hotel information can be added like fitness center opening hours, calling the concierge, ask the Wi-Fi password and many more.

Additionally, hotel managers have the option to enable skills from the Alexa Skills Store on the devices they manage so that their customers can use skills to play games, get a quick guided workout, play sleep sounds to help them relax, and more.

Guests’ use of Alexa in their room is optional; Echo smart speakers have a Microphone Off button that electronically disconnects the microphone. With Alexa Smart Properties for Hospitality, guests use Alexa without needing to connect their Amazon account to the Alexa enabled device. Furthermore, voice recordings are not saved.
