Interface IView7

interface IView7
Extends IView6 This interface extends IView6 with additional functionality to set border edge style, control alpha compositing, and layer storage type for this view. Like its predecessors, all methods of this interface must be called from the UI thread.

Methods

setBorderEdgeStyle()

void setBorderEdgeStyle(BorderEdgeStyle* style)
Sets the style for each edge of the Border independently. This method sets the border style per edge, allowing different styles for top, right, bottom, and left edges. Default border style for all edges is BorderStyle::SOLID. This API and IView::setBorderStyle both control border style and follow last-write-wins semantics. Calling this method overrides any uniform style previously set via IView::setBorderStyle. Conversely, a subsequent call to IView::setBorderStyle will override the per-edge styles set by this method.

Parameters

style
BorderEdgeStyle* — Required BorderEdgeStyle representing the border style to be set per edge.

getBorderEdgeStyle()

BorderEdgeStyle getBorderEdgeStyle()
Returns the current per-edge border style of this view. This method always returns the effective border style for each edge, regardless of whether the style was last set via IView::setBorderStyle or IView7::setBorderEdgeStyle. For example, if IView::setBorderStyle was last called with BorderStyle::DASHED, this method returns a BorderEdgeStyle with all edges set to BorderStyle::DASHED.

Returns

BorderEdgeStyle BorderEdgeStyle representing the border style for each edge.

setAlphaCompositingEnabled()

void setAlphaCompositingEnabled(bool enabled)
Sets whether alpha compositing is enabled for this view. When enabled, the view and its content are composited as a single unit before applying opacity. This ensures correct blending when the view contains overlapping child views or content. This only has a visible effect when the view’s opacity is not 1.0. When disabled, opacity is applied individually to each child, which is more performant but may produce incorrect blending for overlapping content. It is disabled by default. This API is independent of IView7::setLayerStorageType which controls storage across frames.

Parameters

enabled
bool — Required True to enable alpha compositing, false to disable it.

setLayerStorageType()

void setLayerStorageType(com.amazon.kepler.uitoolkit.graphics.LayerStorageType storageType)
Sets the storage type for the opacity layer of this view, controlling how the rendered output of this view and its subtree is stored across frames. Refer LayerStorageType. This does not override the LayerStorageType of individual child views. Each child retains its own layer storage policy. Default value is LayerStorageType::NONE. This API is independent of IView7::setAlphaCompositingEnabled which controls blending correctness.

Parameters

storageType
com.amazon.kepler.uitoolkit.graphics.LayerStorageType — Required The LayerStorageType to set.
