Catalog Maintenance

Summary

SKU is the primary key for your catalog data. Amazon sends the SKU in the data via the Gateways and displays SKUs on the reports. Having a 1:1 relationship will help identify the item sold (i.e. the UPC) to support retail functions like decrementing inventory, re-ordering, stocking shrink, etc.

Update a SKU meta data

i.e. description or price, that item-record needs to be completed and then re-uploaded

Update Item name field

For product description. The product name that is printed on the receipt by Amazon. The field is an alphanumeric string; 1 character minimum in length and 100 characters maximum in length.

Note: Type 1 High ASCII characters (®, ©, ™, etc.) or other special characters are not supported.

Do not use abbreviations (e.g. WTR for Water) and 2) Include brand, variety, and quantity wherever possible (e.g. “Dr. Pepper Zero Cherry 20oz” or “Colgate Kids Toothbrush, Trolls, Extra Soft (2 Count)”

Updating an item SKU

You can update an item in Just Walkout such updating the SKU for an item. This can be accomplished by reaching out to the Amazon team for completing the update process

Map SKUs to Multiple Barcodes:

Previously, the one-barcode-per-SKU limitation forced customers to duplicate SKU entries to map one SKU to multiple barcodes. Launched functionality enables customers to support important use cases including

  1. Multi-region sales tracking (e.g., Diet Coke can have different UPCs for East vs. West Coast)
  2. Multiple barcode standards (both UPC and EAN-13 for the same product)
  3. Multiple suppliers with unique internal barcodes for the same product
  4. Different barcodes for promotional campaigns to measure performance of the same product

Archiving a SKU

You can now archive items from the Just Walk Out catalog that are no longer sold in your store. This can be accomplished using two methods:

  • Excel Template: Set the operation field to "Archive" in the catalog template for the SKUs you want to remove. See Archive SKU Manual.
  • Catalog Management UI: Use the web interface to archive SKUs directly through the portal. See Archive SKU UI.
