Amazon Appstore has discontinued the Creator Service and the web-based app submission process. If you used both services to create apps for Fire TV and tablets, you can update your apps to a new version in Amazon Developer Console. Q: Does Amazon offer an alternative tool for no-code app creation?
Currently, Amazon doesn't offer another tool for no-code app creation. If you want to build FOS Android apps, see Build Web-Based Apps for Amazon Fire OS.
Q: How do I access my Creator apps? The Creator Service ended, but you can access your live apps through Amazon Developer Console. Log in to Amazon Developer Console using your developer credentials. In the console, go to App List.
Q: What happens to my "live" apps after the discontinuation of Creator Service?
Your "live" apps continue to work on all supported devices. Your existing customers maintain access to your "live" apps. Access your "live" apps through Amazon Developer Console. In the console, go to App List.
Q: What happens to my apps in “Not Submitted” status?
Apps in “Not Submitted” status before the discontinuation of Creator Service remain unavailable in Amazon Developer Console. You must create and submit a new Android app to Amazon Appstore. See Submit your app to the Amazon Appstore.
Q: How do I update my "live" apps?
Follow the guidance in Update Your Web-Based Apps in Amazon Developer Console.
Q: Did anything change in my Creator Developer Portal account?
No, your account details remain the same. Access your apps in Amazon Developer Console with your current credentials.
Q: What do I do if my "live" apps stop working or show errors?
Each app contains an Android package (apk
) file with unique potential issues. Use our testing services to identify problems:Live App Testing and App Tester.
Q: How do I remove my "live" app from Amazon Appstore?
Log in to Amazon Developer Console. On the App status tab, select “Remove from Appstore” or delete your app. If you don't see the “Remove from Appstore” option, please contact us.
Q: How do I update live metadata after Amazon updates my live app?
To update your live metadata after Amazon update your live app:
- Create a new upcoming version of the app
- Update the metadata
- Submit the app
Q: If the base or upcoming version of my app was in “Incomplete” state before Appstore updated a new version of my app, how can I make changes to this app later?
If your upcoming version was in "Incomplete" state, delete that upcoming version and submit a new version of the app.
If your base version was in "Incomplete" state, create a new app with new apk
file.
