Warning: Maps API v2.0 will be deprecated and replaced by Maps API v2.5 on October 26, 2020. For your native Maps app to work on Fire tablets running Fire OS 5+, you must recompile your app using the Maps API v2.5 and resubmit the app before October 26, 2020. Read more here: Deprecation Notice for Amazon Maps API v1.0 and v2.0.
Release notes for the Amazon Maps SDK are provided here.
Important: Amazon Maps SDK v2.5 retains a no-op implementation so that existing developers will not face compilation issues. No-op means the methods exist (so your app will compile) but they do nothing.
Features No Longer Supported
The following classes still exist with a no-op implementation. SDK v2.5 will no longer support the following features:
Class / Interface / Feature
Property / Method / Interface
This interface is invoked when animation from one place to another place on map is cancelled. Animation is no longer supported.
This callback is not invoked when rendering is complete.
This is partially supported in Maps SDK v2.5. Not all TileProviders implementations are supported; currently, only UrlTileProvider based implementations are supported. UrlTileProvider implements the TileProvider interface. You must implement a class that extends UrlTileProvider, and use that class as the tile provider when calling this API.
