You may have heard about the new App Health Insights Dashboard, which can tell you how your app is performing on a technical level, but did you know there’s also a new dashboard that tells you how your app is doing on a business level?
Meet the App Statistics reports!
The App Statistics reports can be found right alongside the Sales, Earnings, and Payments reports in the Reporting Section of the Developer Console:
The Acquisition reports will give you details about how many new installs your app receives. They’re like the Sales reports, but with more in-depth details.
The Engagement reports give you details about how much your customers are using your app.
Let’s get into more detail, starting with the Acquisition reports:
Acquisition reports are essentially install reports. Note that they are currently only available for Fire TV apps, but we are working on making them available for tablet apps as well.
The first box you’ll see on the Acquisition page is Daily Installs (Unique). This is how many separate users have installed your app on each day. So if a user installs your app multiple times in one day, it will just count as one install.
The next box is the Daily Install Events. This is similar to the previous box, but includes multiple installs from the same user.
The last box is the Current User Installs, which is how many users have your app installed on their device.
Below that is the Configure Report, where you can see long term data for the three kinds of reports above.
Scroll down and you’ll see the Marketplace view and and Device type view.
The Marketplace view shows the number of installs your app is getting, separated by location.
The Device type view shows the installs separated by device type. Currently only Fire TV is available for acquisition reports, but we expect tablet info to be available later this year.
Engagement reports tell you how much your users are using your app. These are available for both Fire tablet and Fire TV apps.
The first three boxes on this page are for Active Users, including Daily Active Users (DAU), Weekly Active Users (WAU), and Monthly Active Users (MAU). You can use these reports to track how many users are using your app on a regular basis.
Below that are the Stickiness Ratio reports.
The DAU/MAU Ratio compares your daily users to your monthly users. So a 15% ratio means that you have 15 users each day for every 100 people who use your app in the span of a month.
The WAU/MAU Ratio is similar, but it compares weekly users to monthly users.
Just like the Acquisition Report, you can use the Configure Report to get more in depth info about the reports above.
And also like the Acquisition Report, you can scroll down to get the Marketplace view and the Device type view.
