Last week, we presented a webinar on Making Money with Promotions That Work. We shared tips on how you can build effective promotions that can increase your conversion rate, including how to run a social good campaign with Seeds, a company that provides microfinance loans for women in Africa.
For those of you who were able to join us, thanks for tuning in! If you couldn’t attend, here’s a selection of the top questions we received:
Q: Should I run short promotions for specific charitable events?
Yes and no - this can have the effect of a "flash sale," but it is always better to build consistency and regularity into your business model.
Q: How should I run a promotion for social good?
The promotional best practices we shared in the webinar also work for social good campaigns. Remember the “block and tackle” elements of any new feature or promotion: A/B test your ad-units, conduct a cohort analysis, target your message to the right audience, etc. Your social good campaigns deserve the same attention to detail as any other promotional campaign.
Q: Should I make my social good product more expensive to offset the donation?
No. You are targeting non-spenders, so you shouldn't add additional mental barriers to making the purchase. Think of this as "new money" that you would otherwise not have received.
Q: How do I contact Seeds?
Contact information for Seeds can be found on their website.
Q: Where can I find the presentation referenced in the webinar about getting more press and bloggers to write about my app or game?
Check out “Four Essential Marketing Tips That Have Nothing to Do With Buying Traffic.”The press and blogger part starts at the 10:55 mark.
