Guidelines for writing, video, and image usage.

Co-branding usage

Use of the badges and branding is limited to Ring developers in good standing. You must cease any co-branding if Ring requests it for any reason, or if your account is paused or terminated for any reason.

Writing guidelines compatibility

When referencing the integration with Ring, use clear compatibility language.

Approved compatibility phrasing includes:

  • Compatible with Ring cameras
  • Integrates with Ring devices
  • Available in the Ring Appstore

Avoid language that suggests your app is owned, developed, or officially endorsed by Ring, unless such a relationship exists.

Writing guidelines app availability

You may use the following copy when promoting your app on marketing channels:

  • Available in the Ring Appstore
  • Now available in the Ring Appstore
  • Discover the app in the Ring Appstore

Keep captions concise and focused on the integration with Ring devices.

Writing guidelines dos and don'ts

To streamline the review and approvals process, keep in mind the following guidelines:

Do

  • Do refer to your app as "New" or "New to the Ring Appstore" for three months after it has been added to the Ring Appstore.
  • Do use "In the Ring Appstore", not "on", when referring to where customers can find your application.
  • Do spell out Ring Appstore in all instances.

Don't

  • Don't include a quote from a Ring executive.
  • Don't include Ring sales or active user statistics.
  • Don't include statements or metrics that cannot be substantiated. This includes claims such as "first," "best," or "only."
  • Don't use "with Ring" to imply a formal partnership or endorsement (e.g., "Powered with Ring," "Built with Ring," "Exclusive to Ring"). This also includes assertions such as "exclusive" and "alliance."
  • Don't refer to your business as an "associate" of Ring or Amazon, as this could be confused with Amazon Associates, the Amazon online affiliate program.

Design guidelines Ring devices

If you include Ring devices in marketing content, use official Ring product imagery or approved renders. Devices should appear accurate and unmodified.

Don't include images of other companies' products in the same visual asset.

Video guidelines

If creating video content featuring a Ring app:

  • Show the interaction between your app and the Ring device.
  • Introduce the product experience early in the video.
  • Include the Ring Appstore badge in the opening and closing frame.

Video content should clearly demonstrate how the app works with Ring devices.
