Works with Alexa Overview
Works with Alexa (WWA) is a certification program that establishes your product's compatibility with Alexa. This certification makes sure that your customers have a better smart home experience. When your product receives certification, it can carry the WWA badge on product packaging, on the product detail page the Amazon retail website, and as a notation in the website search. Your product also becomes eligible for additional placements within the Amazon Smart Home Store and Amazon Works with Alexa Store. The badge increases customer confidence that your product integrates seamlessly with Alexa.
Products that connect to Alexa with an Alexa smart home skill, the Alexa Connect Kit (ACK), and local control (hubs) can apply for WWA certification. In addition, products that integrate Alexa into their product by using the Alexa Voice Service (AVS) can apply for WWA certification.
Review the WWA program guidelines and requirements
Smart home device manufacturers must comply with the Works with Alexa Program Guidelines to be eligible to apply for WWA certification. Amazon requires WWA certification to use the WWA badge.
Your product must also meet the WWA Certification Requirements to receive WWA certification. If your product connects to Alexa through a skill, your skill must meet stringent WWA Alexa Skill Requirements. Submit your product for Works with Alexa certification
After you have reviewed the program guidelines, you can submit your product for WWA certification. Allocate at least one month for the certification process.
Use the Alexa Certification Console to apply for certification, track the certification progress of your product, and request a WWA badge. Amazon uses an independent, third-party testing facility to test your product for WWA compatibility. Each time you submit a product for testing, you must pay a fee to the testing facility determined by the testing scope of your product. Display the WWA badge on the Amazon retail website
After you submit your product for certification, you can request the WWA badge to apply to the corresponding Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) on the Amazon retail website. Submit the ASIN through a badge request in the Alexa Certification Console. If your ASIN has changed, or you have a new ASIN for your certified product, you also submit your new ASIN in the console. Add the WWA badge to your marketing materials
After you receive WWA certification, you're also eligible to use the WWA badge on product packaging and other marketing materials. All marketing materials must comply with the guidelines listed in Works with Alexa Trademark Usage Guidelines and Alexa Badges. For marketing approval, submit your material to firstname.lastname@example.org.
