Alexa for Headphones

Spotlight: Bose QC 35 II

The QuietComfort 35 (QC 35 II) Wireless Headphones II are the top-performing wireless headphones from Bose, a leader in the industry. They deliver astonishing sound quality for enjoying music, are engineered with world-class noise cancellation technology, and now, are optimized for Amazon Alexa. The QC 35 II headphones provide users instant access to Alexa with the touch of the Action button on the left earcup.

Bose QC 35 II is the first in-market headphone that implements Amazon's Alexa Mobile Accessory (AMA) protocol. The AMA protocol is designed to allow device makers to readily connect Bluetooth-enabled audio devices with the Amazon Alexa App, enabling hands-free Alexa experiences across a range of device types, including headphones, automotive accessories, portable Bluetooth speakers, and wearable electronics. The accessory device communicates control and voice data messages with the Alexa App over Bluetooth using a BLE or RFCOMM connection. The Alexa App then mediates all communications and protocol interactions to Alexa Voice Service, and coordinates any responses played back to the user through a combination of protocol responses and A2DP based playback.

Amazon manages and maintains the features and functions of the Alexa App for Android and iOS in all countries where Alexa is available, ensuring that AMA accessories stay up-to-date with all the features that Alexa has to offer. Customers just need their favorite AMA accessory and the Alexa App to get started.
