Removing Your App from the Cloud App Program

Important: At this time, Amazon cloud app streaming is available for select apps only.

If you remove your app from the Cloud App Program, you might not be able to reenter or your re-entry is delayed.

What happens when you remove your app

Removal of your app from the Amazon Cloud App Program is fully self service. However, after your app is removed, reinstatement requires approval from Amazon.

Availability on other devices

Removing your app from the Amazon Cloud App Program does not affect your app's availability to other devices in the Appstore. If you remove your app from cloud app streaming, it continues to be available to other Fire OS devices through regular Appstore distribution.

Impact on existing customers

Removing your app from the Amazon Cloud App Program does not affect your current customers who have already installed the app. Subject to Amazon's option to decide otherwise, customers are able to continue to use it as before.

To have your app removed from cloud app streaming for your existing customers, reach out to Developer Support with the Cloud App Program category and General Inquiries subject. Include the ASIN along with details supporting your request.

Note: To transition from cloud app streaming to a native Vega OS VPKG, developers do not need to withdraw from the Cloud App Program.

Removing your app from Amazon cloud app streaming

To remove your app from Amazon cloud app streaming, follow these steps:

Verify that the person suppressing the app version has administrator privileges. Other users can see the Remove from Appstore option, but only administrators have the option enabled. For information about roles and permissions, see Manage Your Amazon Developer Account and Permissions.
Open the app's listing in the Developer Console using an account with administrator privileges. Go to the App status screen for the current version of your app.
On the top right, click Remove your App.
In the submenu, click Remove from Cloud App Program.
In the pop-up dialog, supply the Reason for removal along with any Additional comments, and click OK.
Confirm the removal in the second pop-up dialog. Because this action is nonrecoverable, click Confirm only when you are ready. Otherwise, click Cancel.

Your app is now removed from the Amazon Cloud App Program and is no longer available in the Amazon Appstore on Vega OS Fire TV devices.

After app removal

Customers who have already installed the cloud streamed app on Vega OS Fire TV devices can continue to use it on their devices, subject to Amazon's option to continue maintaining that availability. These customers retain the version of the app that they previously installed from the Appstore on their devices. These conditions apply to both free and paid apps.

The product page for a removed app remains live so that customers who purchased the app can access the product information as part of their order history. However, removed apps are not searchable, discoverable, or available for purchase by new customers.
