Understanding Live App Testing for Cloud App Streaming

With Amazon's Live App Testing (LAT) service, you can distribute an app that you intend to publish to the Amazon Appstore to a pre-defined set of testers before going live. The testers can sample Amazon services against Amazon's production environment, to make sure your app is working as expected. Examples of features you can test include the following APIs and services:

  • In-App Purchasing (IAP)
  • Facebook integration and connectivity
  • Amazon Device Messaging

Before you publish your app, you can use LAT to gather feedback and validate the cloud app streaming experience for your app. Your test results show you exactly what your customers would see if the app were live in the Amazon Appstore.

Pre-submission testing workflow

Use the following process to submit an app to LAT:

Diagram showing the four-step Live App Testing workflow: submit APK, test with testers, evaluate feedback, and promote to publish.
LAT Workflow
  1. Submit the APK.

  2. Ask your testers to test the app using LAT:
    1. Add your testers to tester groups.

    2. Testers in each tester group download and test your APK via the Cloud App Program on a Vega OS Fire TV device.

  3. Evaluate your tester feedback.

  4. When you're satisfied with your testing results, promote your app to be published live in the Amazon Appstore.
