1. Organizer and / or subject of the Terms of Competitions

Amazon Media EU S.à.rl (hereinafter, “Amazon”) is organising a competition (“Competition”) for participants of the Amazon Appstore Developer Lounge. By participating in the Amazon Appstore Developer Lounge and this Competition, entrants confirm that they are eligible to do so (see paragraph 3 below) and agree to be bound by these terms and the decisions of Amazon.
 

2. Duration

The Competition will start at 09:00:00 (BST) on 27 October 2022 and end at 17:00:00 (BST) on 28 October 2022 (the “Entry Period”). All entries submitted outside of the Competition Period will be automatically discarded.
 

3. Eligibility

To participate in the Competition, you must be a legal resident in the United Kingdom and aged 18 or over. EXCLUDING: all employees of Amazon, its affiliates, representatives and advisors; employees of agents or suppliers of Amazon, its affiliates, representatives and advisors, who are professionally connected with the Competition and its administration; and members of the immediate families or households of these categories.
 

4. How to participate

To enter the Competition, you must visit the Amazon Developer Lounge at droidcon London during the Entry Period. All entries must be submitted in person at the Amazon Developer Lounge through an online submission using a survey tool called Qualtrics that will request the following information: (a) first name, (b) surname, (c) Twitter handle (if available), and (d) WhatsApp phone number (if no Twitter handle). No entries will be accepted by any other method. There is a limit of one entry per person. There is no purchase or entrance fee of any kind required to enter the Competition or win a Prize.

5. Prize

Winners shall receive either:

·         A Fire TV Stick 4K Max - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MQZXN1X; or

·         A Fire HD 10 Tablet - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08BX7FV5L

There will be four (4) Fire TV Sticks and (4) Fire HD 10 Tablets available to be won in total over the two (2) day event.
 

6. Winners selection and conditions

Winners will be selected at random each day of the 2 day event with 4 winners each day.  Winners will be selected by Amazon using a random number generator. We will notify the Winners at 3:35pm BST each day via Direct Message from our Twitter channel @AmazonAppDev.  If the Winner does not provide us with their Twitter handle, we will send a message to the Winner using the WhatsApp phone number provided on the entry form. Following notification via Twitter and/or WhatsApp, the Winner must collect their Prize in person from the Amazon Developer Lounge by 4:00pm BST on October 28, 2022. If the Winner is unable to collect their Prize in person, they must notify Amazon by responding to the Prize notification (via Twitter/WhatsApp) within 24 hours of the notification and provide a UK address for delivery of the Prize. Amazon will make all reasonable efforts to contact a Winner. If a Winner is unreachable or ineligible or fails to claim the Prize as set out above, the Winner will forfeit their Prize and a new Winner may be selected in accordance with the process for other Winners. Prizes are not transferable, and no substitutions (including cash) will be given. This process is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Non-winners will not be notified. By entering the Competition and accepting the Prize you acknowledge that, in order to comply with applicable laws and to indicate that a valid award took place, Amazon will publish or make available the name of each Winner. If you are a Winner and object to your details being published or made available, please contact Amazon at amazonappdevsocial@amazon.com.
 

7. Use of personal data

By entering the Competition, you are providing your personal data to Amazon as data controller and acknowledge that your personal data will be used exclusively by Amazon for the administration of the Competition. By submitting your details you acknowledge that Amazon will use and process your personal data as described in these terms and you confirm that you have read and understood the Amazon Privacy Policy (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GX7NJQ4ZB8MHFRNJ).
 

8. Limitation of liability

Amazon accepts no liability in relation to an entrant's participation (or inability to participate) in the Competition, including any use made by any of the Winners of (or inability to use) their respective Prizes, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Without prejudice to that general exclusion, and insofar as is permitted by law, Amazon will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of Amazon or that of its employees and Amazon will not be liable for any loss of income, profits, sales or damage to reputation, incurred by any entrant. Your statutory rights are not affected.  Amazon does not exclude or limit its liability for personal injury or death caused by its negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that may not, by law, be limited or excluded.
 

9. Corporate information

Amazon.co.uk is a registered trademark of Amazon EU S.à.rl, with registered office at 38 Av. John F. Kennedy, 1855 Luxembourg.
 

10. General rules

By participating in the Competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and the decisions of Amazon. Amazon is not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by the user or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this Competition or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Competition. Amazon reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Competition, violates the terms, or acts in a disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and civil law and, should such an attempt be made, Amazon reserves the right to seek damages from any such person and entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law. Amazon's failure to enforce any of these terms shall not constitute a waiver. Amazon reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition if it is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other problems beyond the control of Amazon and award the Prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation.
 

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Rules shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Luxembourg City district courts.
