Use the ASP Console to Manage Persistent Visual Alerts


Use the Alexa Smart Properties (ASP) console to send persistent visual alerts to units or endpoints in your property. A persistent visual alert is a notification that displays content on a device with a screen, and remains visible until a defined expiration time or the guest or resident dismisses the alert.

Open the Content management page

  1. Open the Alexa Smart Properties management console and navigate to your Properties page.

    For details about how to access the console, see Use the Alexa Smart Properties Management Console.

  2. In the list of properties, choose the property.
  3. Click the Create Content button to navigate to the Content Management page for the property.

Create a persistent visual alert

  1. Navigate to the Content Management page.
  2. Under Delivery Options, click Persistent Visual Alert and then click Next.
  3. Enter the Expiration Date and Expiration Time and click Add Locale.
  4. Enter the content details and then click Next:
    • Title
    • Body Text
    • Background Image URL (optional) – For background image requirements, see Background images.
  5. Select the rooms (units) that you want to receive the alert and click Next.
  6. Review the content of the persistent visual alert. To make changes, click Previous.
  7. To send the alert to the devices, click Send.

    The persistent visual alert delivers to the devices within five seconds.

View persistent visual alert details for a room

You can view the details for a persistent visual alert. Details include the title, description, and the background image status, and an image preview for each locale.

  1. Open the Alexa Smart Properties management console and navigate to your Properties page.
  2. In the list of properties, choose the property.
  3. Navigate to the Rooms page for the property.
  4. Choose the room to review, and then scroll down to the Content Management section.
  5. Click the Persistent Visual Alerts tab.
  6. To open the details page for an alert, click the reference ID for the persistent visual alert.

Clone a persistent visual alert

Clone a persistent visual alert to apply the same alert to other rooms.

  1. Open the detail page for the persistent visual alert that you want to clone.
  2. Click Clone.
  3. Select the rooms (units) that you want to receive the cloned alert and click Next.
  4. Review the content of the persistent visual alert. To make changes, click Previous.
  5. To send the alert to the devices, click Send.

Delete a persistent visual alert for a unit

  1. Open the detail page for the persistent visual alert that you want to delete.
  2. Copy the Reference ID for the alert.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Read the warning prompt, and then paste the reference ID that you copied and click Delete.

Delete all persistent visual alerts for a unit

  1. Open the Alexa Smart Properties management console and navigate to your Properties page.
  2. In the list of properties, choose the property.
  3. Navigate to the Rooms page for the property.
  4. Choose the room, then scroll down to the Content Management section.
  5. Click the Persistent Visual Alerts tab.
  6. Click Clear all. This action deletes all persistent visual alerts on all the devices in the room.
