Struct UIWindowLevel

sealed struct UIWindowLevel
Struct defines level of a window. The stacking of window level takes precedence over the stacking of windows within each level. That is, even the bottom window in a level obscures the top window of the next level across the application. Levels are listed in order from lowest to highest. Also, The window created later is stacked above the window of same level.

Fields

Constants

NORMAL

UIWindowLevel = {0}
A window that serves as the “base” window of the overall application. All other windows will appear on top of it across different application.

OVERLAY

UIWindowLevel = {1}
A window that is displayed above NORMAL window but below KEYBOARD window across different application.

SYSTEM_OVERLAY

UIWindowLevel = {2}
A window that is displayed above all other windows across different application.

PARTIAL_OVERLAY

UIWindowLevel = {3}
A window with the same priority level as NORMAL window but an app with PARTIAL_OVERLAY window doesn’t cause existing app to go in background. This can be used to dim the background (e.g., for dialogs, loading screens), or to create a low priority overlay (e.g., floating tooltips or soft indicators). If some other window is opened on top of it, the PARTIAL_OVERLAY window will be removed from back stack.

BOUND_OVERLAY

UIWindowLevel = {4}
A window with the same priority level as NORMAL window but an app with BOUND_OVERLAY window doesn’t cause existing app to go in background (similar to PARTIAL_OVERLAY). This can be used if the window needs to display another overlay window on top and maintain a back stack of overlays. If some other app is opened on top of it the back stack of overlay windows will be completely removed.
