Works with Alexa (WWA) is a certification program that verifies smart home products for responsiveness, functionality, and compatibility with Alexa. When your product receives certification, it can carry the WWA badge on product packaging, on the product detail page on the Amazon retail website, and as a notation in the website search. Your product also becomes eligible for additional placements within the Amazon Smart Home Store and Amazon Works with Alexa Store. The badge increases customer confidence that your product integrates seamlessly with Alexa. Products that connect to Alexa with an Alexa smart home add-on, the Alexa Connect Kit (ACK), Matter, and local control (hubs) can apply for WWA certification. In addition, Alexa Built-in products that control device endpoints can apply for WWA certification.

Review the WWA program guidelines and requirements

Smart home device manufacturers must comply with the Works with Alexa Program Guidelines to be eligible to apply for WWA certification. Amazon requires WWA certification to use the WWA badge. Your product must also meet the WWA certification requirements to receive WWA certification. If your product connects to Alexa through an add-on, your add-on must meet stringent Works with Alexa Add-on Requirements. If you need help with building your smart home add-on to work with Alexa, see WWA IoT Solution Providers for a list of solution providers that develop smart home add-ons on behalf of other companies.

Submit your product for Works with Alexa certification

After you have reviewed the program guidelines, you can submit your product for WWA certification. Set aside at least one month for the certification process. Use the Alexa Certification Console to apply for certification, track the certification progress of your product, and request a WWA badge. Amazon uses an independent, third-party testing facility to test your product for WWA compatibility. Each time you submit a product for testing, you must pay a fee to the testing facility determined by the testing scope of your product. For details about prerequisites, general workflow and schedules, and an estimate of the fees associated with testing your product, see Apply for Works with Alexa Certification. The following diagram shows the high-level process to receive and maintain WWA certification. For answers to frequently asked questions about the WWA program, see Works with Alexa FAQ.

Display the WWA badge on the Amazon retail website

After you submit your product for certification, you can request the WWA badge to apply to the corresponding Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs) on the Amazon retail website. Submit the ASIN through a badge request in the Alexa Certification Console. If your ASIN has changed, or you have a new ASIN for your certified product, you also submit your new ASIN in the console. For details, see Request the Works with Alexa Badge,

Add the WWA badge to your marketing materials

After your product receives WWA certification, you’re eligible to use the WWA badge on product packaging and other marketing materials. Please download the WWA badge from the resources section of the Alexa Certification Console. All marketing materials must comply with the guidelines listed under Works with Alexa Trademark Usage Guidelines and the Alexa Badges help pages. Amazon reserves the right to request any changes or take appropriate action against any use of the WWA badge that is made without permission or that does not conform to these guidelines. If you have any questions, please contact us.
