Works with Alexa Overview
Works with Alexa is a certification program that establishes your product's compatibility with Alexa, ensuring your customers have a great smart home experience. When your products are certified, they can carry the Works with Alexa badge on product packaging, on the Amazon detail page, notation in Amazon search, and become eligible for additional placements within the Amazon Smart Home Store. This increases customer confidence that your products integrate seamlessly with Alexa.
The following are the steps to certify your product as Works with Alexa and request the badge for your products.
- Review the Works with Alexa program guidelines
- Submit your products for Works with Alexa certification
- Display the Works with Alexa badge on Amazon.com
- Add the Works with Alexa badge to your marketing materials
- Raise the bar with Certified for Humans
Review the Works with Alexa program guidelines
Smart home device manufacturers must comply with the Works with Alexa Program Guidelines to be eligible to apply for Works with Alexa certification. Works with Alexa certification is required to use the Works with Alexa badge.
Submit your products for Works with Alexa certification
Once you have reviewed the program guidelines, you can move on to Works with Alexa certification. We recommend that you allocate at least one month for the certification process. Use the Alexa Certification Console to apply for certification, track the certification progress of your different products, and request your badges after you pass certification. Amazon uses an independent third-party testing facility to test your product for WWA compatibility. Each time you submit a product for testing, you must pay a fee to the testing facility determined by the testing scope of your product. For more information, including prerequisites, general workflow and timeframes, and an estimate of the fees associated with testing your product, see Certification Workflow.
A high level guide of the process your product will go through in order to receive WWA certification can be found below.
Display the Works with Alexa badge on Amazon.com
When your products are certified, you can request the Works with Alexa badge to apply to the corresponding ASIN. Submit this ASIN through a badge request in the Alexa Certification Console. If your ASIN has changed, or a new ASIN has been created for your certified product, you also submit your new ASIN in the console.
Add the Works with Alexa badge to your marketing materials
After receiving Works with Alexa certification, you are also eligible to apply to use the Works with Alexa badge on product packaging and other marketing materials. You download the Works with Alexa badge from the resources section of the Alexa Certification Console. All marketing materials must comply with the Works with Alexa Trademark Usage Guidelines and the Badge Guidelines. Submit your materials to email@example.com for review.
