Account registration

Q: As a developer, I have registration issues with Google Play. Will Amazon Appstore Support assist with Google Play account registration issues?

If you would like to distribute your apps on the new Alexa Tablets, you will need to submit your app to the Google Play Store. The Amazon Appstore Support team has no visibility or access to your Google Play account. If you have any questions about your Google Play account (including but not limited to, account registration issues, app submission inquiries, and payment status), please contact Google Play Support.

App submission

Q: As a developer, how do I target Alexa Tablets through the Amazon Developer Console?

Unless you are submitting an Amazon Kids+ app, you will need to submit your app to the Google Play Store to distribute on Alexa Tablets.

Q: Will Alexa Tablets be available in Appstore Quality Central? As a developer, how would I do beta / Live App Testing on Alexa Tablets?

Alexa Tablets are not available in Appstore Quality Central. If you would like to do Live App Testing on Alexa Tablets, please use Google Play’s pre-launch testing options. For more information, see Set up an open, closed, or internal test.

Monetization

Q: I monetize with Amazon Publisher Services (APS); can I still use APS on Alexa Tablets?

APS is not available on Alexa Tablets. Please use Google AdMob or equivalent as an alternative.

Advertising

Q: As a developer, can I still use Amazon Ads to advertise my Alexa Tablets app?

If you would like to advertise your app, please contact the Amazon Ads team.

Reporting and telemetry

Q: As a developer, will I be able to access in-app telemetry (crashes, in-app purchases, feature engagement metrics) for my Alexa Tablets app through Amazon?

All app-related activities – including sales, engagement, statistical data, and payments – on Alexa Tablets will be visible on your Google Play Console. This information is not available in your Amazon Developer account. For more information, see Play Console Help.

Taxes and payments

Q: As a developer, will Amazon still be responsible for my tax withholding for earnings on Alexa Tablets?
