John founded Rabbit & Pork as the third agency and Voice Experience arm of TIPi Group, holding role of Managing Director. John has developed and launched several Skills, presented at several voice events globally, spoken on the VUX, VoiceBot.AI podcasts and authored multiple whitepapers.
Previous to working in the voice industry John spent 13 years working in digital marketing focusing on SEO and working with clients such as Dyson, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, LV=, NatWest and Toyota.
John was recruited as Head of SEO at ROAST, TIPi Group’s founding agency to define its SEO offering, grow and manage the output of the team and improve the departments suite of SEO technology. It was at ROAST John started to develop a voice proposition, first around the optimisation of website content for voice and then in the creation of voice apps.
Rabbit & Pork are now an Alexa Smart Properties Solution Provider deploying Alexa in hospitality and Senior Living locations. Most recently the team celebrated for the second time a prize in the Alexa Skills Challenge. This time for a skill called Memories in the Aging & Engaging competition.
- Learning Out Loud – Using Alexa Conversations this skill helped students test themselves ahead of exams. The user had a conversation with our custom voice over which was provider by The Audio Tailors to pick subjects to be tested on. The user was then asked multiple choice questions to help get them ready for exam season.
- LV= - Our longest serving Alexa Skill has been helping customers of LV= find answers to their insurance questions using Alexa. Featuring hundreds of questions and answers, the skill now includes full voice over from the LV= staff, APL and send to phone.
- Memories – Our submission for the Amazon Alexa Skills Challenge: Aging & Engaging allows users to upload photos and videos of holiday moments or from events. Family members can then view the content and be quizzed on when, where and who was in the photos. This skill is now being integrated into our offering for Alexa Smart Properties for senior living
- Harlequins – Our second Alexa Smart Properties for hospitality installation, is for the English Rugby team Harlequins at their home stadium The Twickenham Stoop. Guests in the hospitality boxes can use Alexa to control the TV with a custom made Smart Home Skill, find out about the team line ups and stats with a custom integration called Opta Stat, and find out where the facilities are.
