Appstore Beta Hub
Appstore Beta Hub is a self-service app for testers participating in Live App Testing (LAT) on Fire TV devices. With Appstore Beta Hub, testers manage beta apps directly from their device and can perform the following actions:
- Discover invitations to LAT apps
- Redeem LAT invitations
- Check for updates to installed test apps
- Reset in-app purchases

- Immediate LAT updates – Access updated versions of test apps as soon as the developer publishes them. If the LAT apps you have access to change, Appstore Beta Hub syncs and updates the app list automatically.
- Multi-track support – Supports testing multiple LAT tracks. Navigate between multiple LAT versions of the same app.
Prerequisites
To use Appstore Beta Hub, you must have the following:
- Active Amazon account
- Fire TV device running Vega OS, or Fire OS 7 or later
- Live App Testing invitation or entitlement
Install Appstore Beta Hub
Appstore Beta Hub is available in the Amazon Appstore on supported Fire TV devices. Search for "Appstore Beta Hub" in the Amazon Appstore on your compatible Fire TV and install it.
The app is free to download and use. After you install and launch the app, it automatically signs you in with the same credentials you use to sign in on your Fire TV device. Appstore Beta Hub automatically syncs with LAT and displays all beta apps you're entitled to.
The first time you launch Appstore Beta Hub, you must agree to the Amazon Live App Testing Service Terms of Use to proceed.
Features
Within Appstore Beta Hub, you can view, install, and manage your beta apps.
View beta apps
The Appstore Beta Hub app has three sections where you can view beta apps:
- All – Shows all beta apps you're entitled to
- Beta Apps Installed – Shows only installed beta apps
- Beta Apps Not Installed – Shows beta apps that you've been invited to test, but haven't installed
Redeem an invitation
- Launch Appstore Beta Hub.

Select Beta Apps Not Installed.
This view shows all apps with pending invitations that you haven't installed. When you install the app, you accept the invitation.
- Select the app you want to install.
- On the app detail page, select Get to download and install the app.
- After the app installs, launch the app by selecting Open app from the app details screen.
When you return to Appstore Beta Hub, the app that you installed appears in the Beta Apps Installed section.
Manage an installed beta app
For installed beta apps, you can perform the following primary functions:
- Launch app
- Check for an app update
- Reset in-app purchases
You can launch an installed app from either the All or the Beta Apps Installed section by selecting its tile.
Appstore Beta Hub periodically syncs with LAT and automatically checks for updates of installed beta apps. However, you can also manually check for updates with these steps.
To update an installed app
- Launch Appstore Beta Hub.
- Navigate to either the All or the Beta Apps Installed section and find the app.
- Highlight the app and then press the menu button on your remote.
- Choose Check for Update.
- If there is an update available, the app detail page shows an Update option. Select Update to download the latest version of the beta app.
To reset in-app purchases for an installed app
- Navigate to either the All or the Beta Apps Installed section and find the app.
- Highlight the app and then press the menu button on your remote.
- Select one of the following:
- Reset Tester Subscriptions – To reset in-app purchase subscriptions.
- Reset Tester Entitlement – To reset in-app purchase entitlements.
It can take up to one minute for the reset to complete. After resetting is complete, you can re-test in-app purchase flows.
Manage multiple versions of the same app
Using the multiple LAT track feature, a developer might invite you to test more than one version of the same LAT app. If you want to change to a different track than the one currently installed on device, you must uninstall the previous track first.
To change your app to a different LAT track
- Uninstall the current version of the app:
- Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
- Find the app and select it.
- Select Uninstall.
- Return to Appstore Beta Hub.
- Select the tile of the alternative LAT track that you want to install.
Tip: Parallel versions of the same LAT app have a "TEST" badge with a number in the corner of the tile. You can use this indicator to differentiate between multiple versions of the same app.
- After the app installs, make sure the latest track information is synced on the device by going to Settings > Account & Profile Settings > Sync Amazon Content.
Important: Make sure to perform this step. Syncing your content can help you avoid cross-track conflicts when working with multiple LAT tracks.

The following are frequently asked questions (FAQ) about Appstore Beta Hub.
- Q: How do I redeem a beta invitation?
- Open the Appstore Beta Hub app and navigate to Beta Apps Not Installed. This screen shows all pending invitations. Select any invitation to redeem it and install the beta app.
- Q: Can I test multiple versions of the same app?
- Yes. Appstore Beta Hub displays an app with multiple LAT tracks as separate apps. You can only have one version of the same app installed at a time. For details on how to navigate between testing multiple LAT versions of the same app, see Manage multiple versions of the same app.
- Q: Do I still need to access the Developer Console?
- No. Appstore Beta Hub eliminates the need to access the Developer Console for common testing tasks like redeeming invitations, checking for updates, or resetting in-app purchases.
- Q: What happens if I uninstall a beta app?
- The app moves from Beta Apps Installed to Beta Apps Not Installed. Your entitlement remains active, and you can reinstall it anytime from the Beta Apps Not Installed section.
Troubleshooting guide
Review the following solutions if you encounter problems using Appstore Beta Hub.
Issue: I don't see a beta app I'm entitled to
Symptoms
You were invited to test a LAT app, but don't see it in Appstore Beta Hub. This problem can occur if you're not signed in to the appropriate Amazon account, or if your test device needs to have its content synced.
Try this
- Navigate to the Beta Apps Not Installed section and check for the app there.
- Make sure you're signed in with the Amazon account that has the LAT invitation.
- Navigate to the Fire TV settings, choose Account & Profile Settings, and select Sync Amazon Content.

Issue: "App already installed" error
Symptoms
An "app already installed" message appears when you try to install an app. This problem can occur when there is already a binary installed on the device for a different version of this app.
Try this
Uninstall the version of the app that is currently installed. Then, open Amazon Beta Hub and install the version of the app you want to test. For more details, see Manage multiple versions of the same app.
Issue: Multiple LAT tracks of the same app appear installed
Symptoms
You see more than one version of the same app appear in the Beta Apps Installed section. For example, you see the same app, but one has a "TEST 1" badge and the other has a "TEST 2" badge. Both appear as installed. This problem can occur when you have invitations for multiple LAT tracks of the same app and the same binary is configured across those tracks, leading to a conflict.
Try this
- If there are any sideloaded binaries with the same package name installed on the device, uninstall them.
- Make sure to follow the guidance in Manage multiple versions of the same app to avoid conflicts.
Issue: "Application not available" error
Symptoms
When you select an app tile to install the app, an "Application not available" error message appears instead of the app detail page opening.
Try this
Install the app through the Appstore Beta Hub menu.
- In Appstore Beta Hub, highlight the tile of the app.
- Press the menu button on remote.
- Select Install App.
Issue: An expected app update isn't appearing
Symptoms
When a developer publishes an updated version of an app, the app detail page shows Open app instead of Update. This problem can occur when the update hasn't yet propagated to Appstore Beta Hub.
Try this
Wait for a few minutes and then check for updates again.
