Last week we presented a webinar on using Amazon Appstore services from within your Unity app. Its extensibility and ease-of-use have made Unity the predominant game development framework, and Amazon Appstore provides several plug-ins to enhance your code. It doesn’t take much to integrate key features like achievements and leaderboards, mobile ads, and in-app purchasing. Our webinar walked through plug-in set up, initialization, and calling of API functions.
For those of you who were able to join us, thanks for participating! We had a great turnout, with lots of insightful questions posed by the audience afterward. Many viewers wanted to know more about Amazon Mobile Ads and Amazon Fling, two of the services we highlighted in our examples. If you couldn’t attend, here’s a selection of the top questions we received:
- Can I combine multiple ad providers in my app?
Yes! Check out our blog Using the Amazon Mobile Ads API with other Ad Network SDKs for more information.
- Can Amazon ads be displayed in apps downloaded from other stores?
Yes! Check out our documentation on Mobile Ads for iOs and Mobile Ads for Android for more information.
- Where are Amazon Mobile Ads available?
Amazon Mobile Ads are available for developers in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Japan.
- Does the Amazon ad platform support video ads?
Yes, Amazon Mobile Ads support Click-to-play interstitials. For more information, see the feature list.
- Do the Unity plug-ins for Amazon Appstore services support non-mobile applications?
Unity allows targeting for a wide variety of devices, including mobile and non-mobile (e.g. set-top boxes like Fire TV), and our plugins allow Amazon Appstore services to be integrated on them whether or not they are mobile.
