We’re excited to announce that device makers building with the Alexa Voice Service can now offer their customers over 150 channels of SiriusXM programming—including commercial-free music, plus sports, news, comedy, entertainment, and more. To support the new SiriusXM skill, device makers need to ensure their products support the proper audio format and that they have passed SiriusXM music certification. Submit your device for review.
To enable SiriusXM, your product must support the following audio format:
Music Service Provider (MSP): SiriusXM
Streaming Format: HLS
Container: ADTS
Playlist Extension: m3u8
Codec Format: LC-AAC, HE-AAC
Bit Rates: 256Kbps (LC-AAC), 23/64/96Kbps (HE-AAC)
The SiriusXM skill offers the full range of channels and services customers expect from the music provider. Using just their voice, customers can say, “Alexa, play Howard Stern on SiriusXM” and tune-in to the channel on their Alexa-enabled device.
The SiriusXM skill can be enabled through the Amazon Alexa App. Once enabled, customers with paid or trial subscriptions must login with their SiriusXM credentials to stream their favorite stations on any Alexa-enabled device.
