We envision a world where Amazon Alexa is everywhere. As we shift to an ambient computing environment, our vision is that customers will simply say, “Alexa” without having to think about which device they’re speaking to or where they are located. Voice will be woven into our daily lives and will extend beyond our Echo family of devices. We are working with device makers and manufacturers to bring Alexa to all sorts of experiences in the home, the office, and the car.
We also want to make it incredibly easy for developers and manufacturers to build Alexa into their products without needing a background in natural language understanding or speech recognition. We provide OEMs with tools and resources to design, build, and launch products with Alexa built directly into their devices. We’ve launched a range of development kits that provide technologies for voice capture, including far-field mic arrays, software for wake word detection and audio clean up, and SDKs for devices to interface with the cloud-based Alexa Voice Service (AVS).
As the next progression in making it easier for device makers to integrate Alexa, we’re happy to introduce two new categories of Alexa Voice Service Solution Providers — Systems Integrators and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs). These Solution Providers allow device makers to leverage more complete designs that are already pre-integrated with technologies needed for a hands-free Alexa experience. This will make overall time to market even faster.
We are pleased to introduce Systems Integrators Linkplay, Libre Wireless, Sugr, and DTS Play-Fi. These companies offer technology solutions and design services with expertise in building Alexa-enabled products. They can help OEMs shorten time-to-market when building hands-free Alexa-enabled products by leveraging qualified software and hardware solutions.
Among ODMs, we are working with Tonly Electronics, Wistron, and a number of other companies to launch fully featured, final product designs with Alexa that device makers can white-label. Tonly has built a Alexa-enabled smart speaker, and Wistron has developed a portable smart speaker with new, unique capabilities. These qualified white-label solutions can help OEMs streamline new product design and manufacturing cycles which can otherwise take 9-18 months.

Device makers seeking to get to market quickly with new and innovative voice-forward products now have an even wider network of companies that offer Alexa-enabled technologies and solutions across the product development continuum. We look forward to adding even more solutions in the future, and invite voice technology and solution providers in the consumer electronics space to join us.
The Alexa Voice Service (AVS) enables developers to integrate Alexa directly into their products, bringing the convenience of voice control to any connected device. AVS provides developers with access to a suite of resources to quickly and easily build Alexa-enabled products, including APIs, hardware development kits, software development kits, and documentation. Through AVS, device makers can add a new intelligent interface to their products and offer customers access to a growing number of Alexa features, smart home integrations, and skills. Just ask, and Alexa will respond. Visit the AVS Developer Portal to get started.
