Intro to ASK | February 11th, 10 am PST / 1 pm EST

Learn how to build your first Alexa skill using the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) using AWS Lambda. We’ll also take a look at how to monitor your new skill using AWS CloudWatch and how to submit your Alexa Skills for certification so they will be available to customers later this year.
 

Voice Design 101 | February 18th, 10 am PST / 1 pm EST

Alexa enables customers to interact with devices and services in a more intuitive way using their voice. This webinar will teach you best practices for voice user interface (VUI), how to maximize usability of your voice experience, and how to creating compelling voice experiences with the Alexa Skills Kit.

New ASK Features | February 29th, 10 am PST / 1 pm EST

This webinar will go deeper into some of the newly released Alexa Skils Kit features including Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) and new Built-In Intents. You’ll see code samples and explanations of how you can implement thse features within your own skills. Immediately following the talk there will be an open Q&A where you can bring your questions and get help with your own skills.

Alexa will be at South Florida Code Camp (SFCC), delivering an Alexa workshop and sessions. Now in it’s 12^th year, SFCC is one of the largest code camps in US and still offers free admission. Register here »
 

Alexa Roadshow + Hackathon | February 25th

The Alexa Roadshow is making a stop at the AWS Pop-up Loft New York! The morning will start with an introduction to using Alexa and Amazon Echo and how to build your first Alexa skill using the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK). Register here 
 

Student Hackathons

TreeHacks | February 12^th-14^th

Alexa will be at Treehacks, a 36 hour hackathon of building apps, hardware, and community in the California sun.

MakeMIT | February 13^th-14^th

Alexa will be at MakeMIT, a 250+ student hackathon focused on hardware.

SpartaHack | February 26^th-28^th

Alexa will be at SpartaHack, Michigan State University’s annual student-run hackathon with over 500 students.
