Amazon’s inaugural re:MARS conference took place in June with well over 2,000 attendees. As part of the Tech Showcase Expo, the Smart Home was available to tour, including the Smart Garage. In the Smart Garage, attendees could get a look at the Rivian truck and the Cybic E-bike before they are available to the public, as well as three aftermarket devices from Anker Roav, Nextbase, and iOttie that make it easy to bring Alexa into your current car today.

Rivian displayed their all electric R1T truck featuring Alexa skills to open/close the front trunk and gear tunnel, as well as darken/lighten the sunroof. Attendees could also ask Alexa to show Rivian’s vehicle status including charge status, miles on a charge, and location of the vehicle. VIP tours included one for former NBA player, Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq got in the truck and was delighted by the Alexa skills.

The Cybic E-Legend E-bike with built-in navigation was on display as well. Visitors, including Shaq, could say “Alexa, open my bike,” and Alexa would map out a bike route based on the number of calories a rider wanted to burn. Alexa can also do things like provide turn-by-turn directions, weather forecasts, traffic updates, calling home, send messages, and even add items to your shopping list from the E-bike.

Visitors were also able to interact with Alexa through three aftermarket devices: the Anker Roav Viva, the Nextbase 522GW Dash Cam, and the iOttie Easy One Touch Connect, all available to customers today, making it easy to bring Alexa with you while you are on the go so you can keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
