Knowledge Skill Templates

To create a knowledge skill, you upload your data to one or more of the provided data templates. To help you select the correct template for your skill and gather the requirements for that template, review the following template information.

For general information about knowledge skills, see Knowledge Skill Overview.

General requirements

The following requirements apply to all templates:

  • Save your file in CSV format.
  • Include the required name columns.
  • Don't include spaces in the CSV column headers. Instead, use underscores ("_").
  • Don't include capital letters in the CSV column headers.
  • Be consistent in the way you refer to the same item. For example, if two users in a People Directory are from the United States, don't set the "country" field to "United States" for one user and "USA" for another user.

Although not required, you can also make the following adjustments:

  • Remove unneeded columns.
  • Reorder columns.

Template-specific requirements

In addition to the general requirements listed previously, your data must meet the following requirements for the specific template that you use:

Policies

You use the Policies template to denote the availability and rules governing an amenity for a user group at a location. For example, "Can guests use the wifi at the student union?", where guests are the user_group, wifi is the amenity_name, and the student union is the location.

Each combination of amenity_name, user_group, and location should be unique. The user_group and location accept multiple values, which you can use for cases where a policy applies to multiple user_groups and locations.

The following table contains key information about the Policies template.
